PARALLEL VIENNA 2017



PARALLEL VIENNA 2017 is a hybrid between curated art fair, exhibition, gallery and studio. The 5th Parallel Vienna is located this year at the premises of the “Alte Sigmund Freud University”, Schnirchgassse 9A, by that sticking to its approach of using abandoned property in the city centre as a presentation platform. Parallel Vienna presents young and aspiring as well as established artistic practices and gathers art initiatives of every kind – art associations, galleries, project spaces, curated project spaces and artist spaces – all under one roof. Parallel Vienna therefore combines local artistic creation with international trends and contributes to the active networking of young creatives by establishing a professional platform for them. PARALLEL VIENNA 2017 ist ein kuratierter Mix aus Kunst Messe, Ausstellung, Galerie und Atelier. In seiner fünften Auflage kehrt die Parallel zurück in die Räumlichkeiten der ehemaligen Siegmund Freud Universität in der Schnirchgasse 9a, 1160 Wien. Vom Dach- bis zum Erdgeschoss zeigen junge und etablierte Künstler und Künstlerkollektive ihre Arbeitenund lokale und internationale Galerien präsentieren ihr Programm. Der Film zeigt die Artist Statements und Parallel Interventions. 19.09. – 24.09.2017.
