KUNSTHALLE Wien presents William S. Burroughs, icon of the Beat Generation. Musicians like the Beatles, Frank Zappa, Lauri Anderson, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Brian Eno, David Bowie and several punk bands like Sonic Youth where fascinated by his work and excessive lifestyle. Together with Brion Gysin he invented the Cut-up method in poetry, writing ("Naked Lunch"), filmaking, art and sound. Lots of photographies showing WSB or taken by him, his books and articles about him, his famous "shotgun paintings" and drawings, films and sound collages. Jun. 15 to Oct. 21, 2012.
